My name is Janie and I currently live in Bend, Oregon and work out of a studio room in my house. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting. After college I was seeking a hands-on and creative outlet, and I found myself in the world of floral design. This path granted me access to an abundance of captivating flowers and greenery. It was during this time I had a simple idea of preserving nature's beauty by pressing the floral, but wasn’t sure what to do with the end product. A few years ago I discovered epoxy resin and initially I used it with my paintings as a layering technique, but over time I began to experiment with the pressed floral I had collected. The resin presented an incredible way to preserve the natural allure of floral and greenery. This process is a way for me to express my deep-rooted love for nature while engaging with my creativity.
